The following tour is an outstanding
10 day West Country Tour

This Super Ten day "Discovery Tour" includes:

Day 1: We journey through the English Countryside stopping for pictures in tranquil villages, and refreshments at old Inns, on route to our nights stay in the charming thatched village of West Lulworth, We suggest, If you're feeling up to it!! A short but wonderful half mile stroll before dinner to Lulworth Cove To look at the stars above, and hear the ocean breeze and waves breaking on the beach, (such simple pleasures!)
Day 2: We journey into the Dorset and Devon countryside of rolling hills and rich pastures; a timeless ingredient as we travel to Widecombe in the Moor, for lunch at a quaint Fourteenth Century Inn and a quick visit perhaps to the charming National Trust gift shop there. Dartmoor has much to offer, the Moors themselves are unique, the mist rising over the hill tops as it slowly descends into the valleys has an almost mystical affect inspiring Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Hound of the Baskervilles. From Dartmoor we pass by the Pilgrims town of Plymouth where the Mayflower sailed to the Americas. Crossing the Brunnel Bridge into Cornwall, the Land of Arthur and Merlin for our cottage stay with ocean/harbor views on the spectacular Cornish Coast, where we will spend an enchanting four days swept back in time to the local haunts of smugglers and pirates. Here, you'll have a chance to unpack and relax in this enchanting land embraced by the sea.

Days 3, 4 and 5: will be spent doing whatever the tour party decides. So many wonderful choices: visiting undisturbed Cornish Fishing Villages, pristine countryside, coastal walks, castles, churches the warmth of the locals, the crackling of the fire as you enjoy a beverage in an old inn, walk the footsteps of Daphne Du Maurier, Tristan & Isolda, Arthur & Merlin, ("And if you look close enough maybe even a Fairy or two!!) It's all here to see and explore, a place where magically time seems to stand still.
Days 6 and 7: we leave the land of Arthur as we journey to the Cotswolds and our two nights stay in the town of Jane Austen, And a touch of Old Rome: "Bath", with its Georgian and Regency style architecture, the Roman spa, and literary fame. From here, we will visit Lacock Village, used as a set in the Harry Potter movies, where TV antennas and satellite dishes don't exist!! we may also have time to visit the villages of Chipping Sodbury, and Castle Combe , These timeless gems are preserved almost exactly as they were two hundred years ago!

Day 8: we'll see more of the Cotswolds as we travel to Stonehenge. What else can one say about this amazing and mysterious place, that has not already been said - !Experience it for Yourself!! A short distance away and equally spectacular, is Avebury, Its mysterious stone circles surrounding the entire village - Truly Fascinating!
Days 9 and 10: we'll spend in London visiting as much as possible in two days! Buckingham Palace! Westminster Abbey!
St. Paul's Cathedral! the Tower of London! and some Power Shopping! at Harrods! And Oxford Street! before our return to Heathrow/Gatwick and the conclusion of a wonderful "Discovery Tour"

Day 1 & 2 :Begins in the Historic Capital: London: With our 3 star accommodation centrally located, we will be able to visit all the main sites including: Buckingham Palace: Westminster Abbey: Piccadilly Circus; the Tower of London: And much more!! Not to mention some power shopping at Harrods and Oxford Street
Day 3: We journey West to The Ancient site of Stonehenge: Then on to Bath For our over night stay While here in the fascinating town of Jane Austen we will visit the Roman Spa Pultney Bridge and The Royal Crescent.
Day 4: our drive through the Villages of the Cotswold's is stunning passing through Castle Combe: Bourton on The Water: Stow on the Wold: Broadway and on to Stratford upon Avon, Before reaching our 15th century accommodation in the Medieval town of Warwick adjacent to the Majestic Castle.
Day 5: A Morning visit to the Castle before we journey North to the the villages and sites familiarized by Emily and Charlotte Bronte of Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights fame!! And on to our overnight stay in The Royal City of York.
Day 6: York is a wonderful medieval walled city, and best seen by Foot, The Viking Museum is a must see!! In the 15th Century, York was for a short time, the English seat of power. Two Factions The Yorkist's and Lancastrians fought what is known as The War of The Roses, each faction laying claim to the Throne of England!! The Yorkist's finally prevailing!
Today The Duke of York is the title given to the 2nd eldest son of a reigning Monarch. So you see A day in York will be like a walk through the annals of English history!! There are many other fascinating things to enjoy in York before our short but scenic drive to The Beautiful Lake District!!

Days 7 and 8: This land of Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter is set amongst stunning picture postcard lakes and the Cumbrian Mountains, our 2 nights here will afford you the time to immerse yourself in whatever you want to do, hiking: Or a casual walk through this pristine world, or simply relax on the outside patio of our lakeside accommodation with a glass of wine!! Here in this Magical Land we will unwind and simply smell the roses!!

Day 9: We leave the Lake District and head North to the town of Haltwhistle known as the center of Britain, We will visit the fantastic Roman Wall Built By Emperor Hadrian, the wall spans 70 miles or so from the East Coast to the West, It is a truly fascinating historical site!!
Day 10: Heading south to London we will stop for lunch in the town of Thirsk while here the James Herriot Museum of (All Creatures Great and Small Fame), is an interesting visit, From here we pass through the Dales, Where Herriot had his Veterinary practice, continuing South to London through more fabulous English Countryside and the completion of a wonderful "North Country" Discovery Tour!!
